Spirit Song Flutes is dedicated to crafting fine tuned, unique, wind blown instruments. Each piece of bamboo is hand selected for a specific musical instrument. The artist then torch burns the surface, creating a unique design, as well as drawing moisture from the wood for better preservation. The mouth and finger wholes are bored with a hot poker and hand tools. Then each instrument is tuned to perfection in either diatonic or pentatonic scales. As a finishing touch the flutes are waxed and hand wrapped with synthetic sinew. Hand-made natural fiber flutes bags are also available upon request.
